I go to school in the city right near you Cherish.

I go to Marymount Manhattan College. I am so happy I graduate this May though. But then I am going to grad school-so I am still in school for another hopefully 2 years. I am applying to grad school for Early Childhood/Special Education.

Hey NicRob- Does Queens College have that program there for Masters? The only thing is I am not certified at all I will only be graduating with a BA in Psych...but I really want to teach so I have to go to a grad program for initial certification.

Thanks!!

Oh yes, and my last semester of undergrad started yesterday as well.... Ughh I hate traveling into the city...

I used to live there for my first 3 years of school. I lived in the dorms and tehn had an apt. However the apt got expensive and I didnt like living in the city anymore- So I moved home to safe $$.

But now I commute 2 days a week- and I hate it especially during rush hour...I guess I should have kept the apt

Cant wait until school is OVER!!

I am doing the MAT program which certifies me to teach Elementary Education (1-6) There may be an extension for Special Education but I am not too sure. However the program I am in right now has been great so far and I reccomend it! My BA is in History, to do the MAT you need to have a BA in something other than Education so you would definitely qualify. Good Luck and let me know if you need any help!

Wow math and science education! I could never do that, I envy you for being able to do that. Math and science are my two worst subjects. Also I was looking at the pictures of your engagement party because I had mine outside too at my FH house and I saw Janice Negron in your pictures. I actually know her, I worked with her a few summers at a day camp and I still see her all the time she still comes by the camp and helps us out. I remeber she had mentioned to me that one of her friends was getting married when she found out I had gotten engaged and said if I needed anything she would ask you and you can help me! I always say what a small world it is!

OMG!!! The camp by ditmars right? WOW!! Really small world!! But definitely, I am all into the whole planning process and these boards have been amazing in helping. SOO if you need anything dont hesitate to ask me! I have to call her tonight and tell her

But Math and Science are acutally my favorite subjects. I know But i think they are more hands on than any other subjects and have to be taught in a fun way which is why im doing the program.

Thanks so much I am going to check it out. I just have a question for ya... do you need to take the GRE's to get into the Queens MAT program? I didn't take them because Hofstra and Adelphi don't require them for the Education Program...
