We're going to Italy on our honeymoon but haven't started planning it yet. Any advice from those who have honeymooned or vacationed there? There's so much to see, and everyone I talk to recommends different places.

depends on what you like to do...do you prefer museums and touring or do prefer relaxing on the beach?

Definitely the Amalfi Coast!!!!!!!! Venice was nice too but super hot (last year...hottest in 17 yrs) & we did Rome & saw the Vatican & also did Florence & Tuscany & saw Pisa.
Sicily was ok (to us), we saw Mt. Etna & Taormina but personally it wasn't our favorite

I think we're going to go on a cruise through Italy. We went to a travel agent yesterday and we would start in Barcelona, Spain and go to Florence, Rome, Naples and Sicily! I'm so excited!

Ive been and im going back in Feb. First, it depends on how much time you have and what you wanna see. The best ofcourse is Rome, Florence , the Amalfi Coast. If you can fit in Venice i would do that too.
But...dont try and fit too much in. Stay in less places and really live it up there rather than trying to see too much. Then youll be exhausted and frustrated

I would say pick one city you want to see the most and hire a tour guide to take you around for the day. We chose Rome, and we hired a guide for the day when we make that stop on our cruise. Don't try to fit it all into one trip, you want to relax a bit on your honeymoon and you want to go back for more.

We're doing a 12 day tour going to various cities in May (we don't have a choice, we're going with DH's b-ball team)--can anyone give any fashion advice? The Italy guide I am reading mentioned that Italians rarely wear shorts--which is tough for my DH who wears shorts all year round! What do the women wear? Can I wear dresses (nothing revealing, just pretty sundresses) with matching cartigans for the religious/historical sites with dress codes? TIA!

I went to ItalyMarch '05 and I'm considering going back for a honeymoon.... LolololoooOOooOVe Florence and Tuscany!!!!!
The almalfi coast is a must as well! I did not go to venice so if we go for our HM we would do Venice, Florence, & the Amalfi Coast.
