Anyone handprinting their invitations?

Original post by Iluvpoodles

So I'm hearing over and over how lables are tacky, even clear ones. Besides having the addresses printed on, can you hand print them yourself if you have neat handwriting. I was thinking of calligraphy but it might take to long for them to get done..

I have seen another bride do this and ti came out really nice.
She printed the addresses first onto the envelopes in a color VERY similar to the envelope color. Then she bought a calligraphy pen and traced over it. It came out looking pretty good!
MUCH cheaper than hiring a pro..

I had one person tell me anything but hand calligraphy was in bad taste. I then asked her if she was going to either do all 130 invites herself for me or pay the $2 per invite (or whatever it costs). That shut her up real quick. IMO, if someone is going to look down on you for labels on an invite, screw 'em.
I'm either doing clear labels or printing directly onto the envelopes. I have to see how much time I have.
Avery has a free download for labels and envelopes at www.avery.com

i just got my invites addressed by Inkspun...came out great and well worth the price and hassle of trying to do it yourself! Was less than $50 for 96 envelopes! I will probably do my place cards with him too! He had them done and shipped back to me in TWO days!!!
