Re: Anyone has anyone info on Betty's catering

I found this in one of the review posts.

Betty’s Catering aka Betty’s Total Events – Queens –When I initially went to visit the hall Betty lied to me. I was told that I could not see the space since the floors were being done and that I had to come to the expo being held about a month later. I took in my list of questions and Betty told me that people never come in with so many questions. Betty also told me that her hall DID NOT SERVE ALCOHOL since people tend to get “rowdy” and that most of her brides do not want alcohol served since they are Catholic This was after she asked me if I was Dominican (I’m not), if DH was Dominican (he’s not) and after she asked me why we did not book another hall that I told her we had seen. The website clearly says 5 hours of premium open bar is part of the wedding package. I was so concerned about the conflicting alcohol info that I even posted about it here Betty's Catering post from initial hall visit I knew of at least one bride who used Betty’s and I asked her about the alcohol policy when I got home that night. She confirmed that alcohol was served at her wedding and there was no issue at all about the alcohol policy which is clearly noted on the website Here is the kicker - I got a call months later asking if we were still interested in booking them for our wedding hall. I reminded the caller (not Betty) that Betty told me they did not serve alcohol so we decided to book elsewhere. The woman I spoke with assured me that they do in fact serve alcohol – to my surprise

Re: Anyone has anyone info on Betty's catering

yeah, I knew about this.

that's what worries me although I can only have beer and wine, and that would be cool with me.

thanks

Re: Anyone has anyone info on Betty's catering

I went to my best friend's reception there and it was awesome....the food, the flowers and the service.

I went 2 weekends ago for a baby shower and once again the food was awesome and the decor & flowers was beautiful.

I didn't pick this place only because its right in the neighborhood I grew up in and I wanted an outdoor ceremony.

HTH

Re: Anyone has anyone info on Betty's catering

I am having my wedding there October 8 and I'm having alcohol! The staff has been very nice to me. It's a lovely place and I've had email communications with another bride who had her wedding there about a month ago and she was quite pleased. I booked my wedding in 2005 and for the sitdown on Sunday prices ranged from $50 - $60. I think they only do tastings at their open house and I thought the food was great. I believe that that 2005 buffet prices started at $40. FYI, they don't have a bridal suite but you probably could use the lower room before entering the main reception area and they have valet service but it's street parking. Major plus is that they include the centerpieces in the price and the flowers are lovely...they have a flower shop on the premises. Also, this place is geared for wedding parties no larger than 130 people. FM me if you have any questions.
