Anyone have a cat door?

We are going to get one because we keep the litter box in the basement. Right now we have a chain on top of the door so its only open a couple of inches for the cats to squeeze through. I would feel better if there was a cat door and the door can be locked.

Is that what everyone uses when they have cats and a baby at home?

I don't have a cat but I would be afraid that the baby might try and squeeze throught the cat door

I have a cat door going to my basement. There is NO WAY a baby is going to be able to squeeze themselves through the door. It's much too small! I would suggest buying one rather than keeping the chain. My DH and I installed it in minutes...you just need a jigsaw...Good Luck!!

My brother had a cat door and he said that his son tried to get through it but of course he couldn't. I would definately feel better having that than the chain because she's curious.
So glad they are easy to put in. Now I hope our fat cat can get in there. I'm sure he'll find a way to access his food.

this is what we are getting (we have same problem w/ basement door being ajar all the time)

its 4 in wide by 6 in high

We have one with a swinging door. The door is pretty small. I doubt a toddler head would fit through but I can see child trying to stick their head through it.

I think we would get the one with the door that they have to squeeze through. The one you posted looks too open. Wouldn't that one be bad with a toddler in the house?

Our cats wont use a door that has a flap/door on it so we have to get one that is open. Its only 4 inches wide by 6 inches high so its not that big
