Liz, does and I had it, I only had it for a short period of time before the wedding, it is awesome but you have to get it done by the right people.

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
I've had it for the past few months. I like it, except that because I don't always get to the nail salon, it has to be replaced about ever 3 or 4 weeks because of the way it grows out. But it never chips or turns yellow like regular french does!

Here is a close up of it from my wedding day. They never chip, smudge or anything. If I was a tip person, this is what I would do all the time

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
The way they did mine and Liz's was that they put the base of your nail with light pink acrylic and the tip is white/pure white/bright white acrylic. It last and last and it is hard as nails. I loved it. All they did was polish it with clear.

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
There is a place in LI that Liz and I used to go to, she still goes there, FM her and ask her for the #, she is a faithful nail person there, she will even tell you who to see.
Eroxgirl, I never had to have mine removed that quickly, what is the process that they use to do yours.

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
the process of permanent french that I get is 2 different types of powder (one that's white on the tip, and the other is clear on the rest of your nail) and they use glue and this heater thing that you put your hand in to make it hard and shiny, very much like acrylic wraps.
After about 2 weeks, when your nails have grown a bit the 'wrap' part starts to lift around the corners by your cuticles (all wraps lift eventually, no matter who does them) - if I had a camera I would show you a pic of my nails right now. When you go to get them done again, the manicurist chips away the lifted part and adds more powder to fill in, but because it dries clear you can see a line where the old powder ends and the new powder begins, which is why they have to be completely replaced or when I'm not in the mood to sit, I just have him polish my nails with a color so that the line is hidden until I'm ready to change.
Since you're planning this for your wedding, if you did it a few days before, it should still look great for your wedding day!
WOW that was long!

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
I had Permanent french (too cheap to keep it up!) but I loved it!!! THey basically powder tip your tips with white powder. It looks WONDERFUL and stays wonderful. Do it at most 3-4 days before the wedding. It takes about 1 and a half - 2 hours to do so allot time!

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
Erox, there is no glue involved in where I went, it is quick and easy and last really long. Liz has been doing it for a while now, she can tell it better. I like how they do it at the place where she took me to.

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
Erox, I agree it lifts, and if you do not get it filled in a timely manner water could seep under there and give you a fungus. When they filled ours there was no line of where the old one was to where the new spot was filled in dunno if there is a difference in procedure. One thing I hated about tips, the upkeep, too time consuming and I have not patience for it.

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
this is the first time i ever heard of this. I wish I had known because I went to any old nail salon in my neighborhood and they did a TERRIBLE job. How much does this cost?

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
shamma that sounds about right - I think I paid 43 - the girls I went to did an AWESOME JOB! I didn't use gue or anything heated when I did it (except the glue to put the powder on) Fills were 20 bucks. I had it for about 3 months then got lazy. I went back to silk wraps and doing french manicure. On a plus side - your nails will look wonderful during the honeymoon too!!! They don't chip

Re: Anyone have a PERMANENT French manicure?
one of my bms just told me that my nail salon is doing it 2 different ways but I haven't been there yet to check out the other method...maybe I won't get the line the other way - its really annoying because lately I can't get there regularly.
