are tulips cheaper to use than roses?

in the spring tulips are plentiful. My centerpieces ($90):

sweetheart table (the pieces we used on the alter are behind the table in this pic)

Did you use tulips in the bo-k also? I am thinking of using them but are worried the stem will get floppy.

I had some tulips in my BM bouquets and they did get somewhat floppy.

I was thinking of tulips as well. The tulips in the bottom picture are FRENCH TULIPS - they have longer stems and cost more than the shorter DUTCH TULIPS. Go to the fresh roses site to get an idea how much tulips cost vs. roses. They don't have French ones on freshrose.com. I was thinking of combinining high French with lower Dutch to save $$$. But I LOVE Lisa T's and I think they look like they cost even more than they did.
