like with 'naughty' games, or prizes or whatever?
also, any kids at your showers?

just curious cuz there is a war in our family going on right now about whether these things are appropriate or not. (i'm trying to stay out of it but keep getting dragged back in!!!! ETA-I would personally like a G-rated shower... but inlaws have a different idea)
just wanted to hear others opinions.
thanks

ETA- no opinions on this? i'll take any.

IMHO- showers should be traditional- lunch, open presents, nothing risque at all something for women of all ages to enjoy.

The batchelorette party is the place for that.

I agree. Showers should be tame, bachelorrette parties are for the risque stuff. I went to a shower where the favors were chocolate lollypops in the shape of a man's %@^!$ and there were quite a few older women there who did not find the humor in it. They also gave the bride some risque gifts. The shower was huge & in a catering hall, it just didn't feel appropriate. There's a time and a place...JMO

I wouldn't call it necessarily risque but my mom had little penis decorations on my shower. She made name tags for the BM and they had these little penis decorations on them...they were actually very silly. She also had some scattered on the tables (not a lot though). DH's grandma asked if they were peanuts. LOL My mom wanted no children. MIL made my mom invite a 13 year girl from her side - but wound up she didn't show up. I have seen silly gag gifts at showers - like bread shaped like a penis' or lollipops at showers - all in good silly fun. I guess it depends on your family and how they take it. My family is very silly and we don't get embarrassed that easily!

I personally don't think it's that big of a deal to do something different, even if it is a bit risque. But that's just me. If you think it may offend some of your guests than you shoudl definitely rethink the idea.

No children are invited to my shower - and I've been told people aren't coming because of it but my mom doesn't do 'risque'. She does traditional ladies luncheon type things. So I'm sure that's what it will be. She could care less what my FILs want...

Maybe you can have two showers? What about a G-rated shower and a pre-bach party with some other games/prizes with the IL's and then the young people can go out?
