Anyone have any friends that are always so negative?
Everytime I talk to one friend of mine about something,she always turns everything around into something negative. If I am talking about going away somewhere,she'll tell me that when she traveled there it was horrible. When I told her that we were shopping around for halls last year,she complained that we would be spending so much money & its not worth it.

God yes. I have a friend in her first trimester who told me 'YOu have no idea how horrible this pregnancy thing is. I'm always sick, my skin is all zitty like when I was 13, I can't sleep, my clothes don't fit, I throw up all day, I'm constantly nauseous' and on and on. I'm like, um, have we counted our blessings lately?
And don't get me started on my grandmother. The nastiest, most negative woman on earth.

I think when people get older,they get a little more blunt and grumpy. I try to just ignore them when they get like that but when its a young person who is always complaining for no reason,it gets very annoying. I could call about something great and she'll try and turn it into a negative thing. People need to lighten up. If people are always negative and down then nobody will want to be around them.

Me--I know a girl (and she's YOUNG) who is the most negative, complaining individual I've ever met in my life!! I've wanted to post about this particular individual many times--it's so constant and ALL of her complaints are laced with the f word.

I have a grandmother that is always so negative. I think the only time she is happy is at a funeral.
No friends though. They are just happy go lucky people and those that are negative I try not to talk to them because I dont like their negativity about everything.

I think a lot of older people are very negative and its ok because perhaps they are not feeling well and there body aches and its not as easy to get around as it used to be. I hate when someone young who is perfectly healthy is always down and negative about everything.

I have a BM who won't be a BM much longer. She is always so negative. She has nothing nice to say and she is so anti marriage. She hates everything that everyone does and she is always right. She had a bad breakup and her behavior are the end results.........
SUCKS!! But I just can't be around her. I stopped calling her back. She will get the hint. I already have 10Bm's and 2 jr bms.. AHH!

YES...YES...YES!! I have a g/f (not a good friend anymore) that is always saying that life ****s and everything is always bad. She never smiles...its a real downer being with her...the 2 times a year I see her!

When people are always down or grumpy, I tend to try to distance myself from them. Who wants to be around a grump?

Can you just ask her 'Why do you want to rain on my parade' or just say 'Well I am sure that we will have a good time no matter what'
I don't really have a friend who only says negative things to me about my plans.

Ladies eliminate negative people from your life. Certain people need to be loved from a distance and negative people are it. Some people should not get orchestra seats in your life they need the nose bleed seats. I don't have people around me who tear me down or beat up on my spirit or draining negative people, they have to be put out to pasture. I have only positive uplifting people in my circle. I have encountered a few tho' Most people who know me, knows better than to come to me with negativity. As much as it might like seem as if I am always happy, I have my days, but it does not mean that I have to choose mess everyone else's day up or carry it with me for life.

Amen Shamma! I'm doing just that with this girl--I keep my distance. It's funny-because since I've kept my distance, all she does now is complain that I don't spend any time with her!! LOL!!

I do that with my grandmother. I just dont talk to her. she is so negative.
My friends once they seem they are heading down negative alley I dont call or talk to them till they are feeling better. Their is just so much positive energy I can give out. It gets very tiring.

My grandmother isn't just old and in pain - she's just a selfish beeotch. Always has been. If the world doesn't revolve around her she doesn't want to be a part of it. Don't even get me started. I've had *quite* the day with her today, actually. She has never forgiven me for moving to New York in uh, 1995. She didn't want to come to my wedding alone because New York 'has a certain reputation.'

I have a manic depressive friend who will only call you to tell you she's killing herself or to complain/whine about how bad her life s u c k s. It's horrendous to be riding a high point and feeling good, then get the call 'Hi Sharon - Oh, that's nice that you're good. I'm going to kill myself because I was laid off, my boyfriend's a coke head, my mother is a nag, my apartment is dirty, my friends are desserters, I'm fat......'. Holy cow!!! No one could be that miserable all the time (except my in-laws, of course )
