so what kind of wedding cakes are you all getting? im thinking of a 3 tier with fruit all around it..im not too sure yet though. but ill post some pix that i like. please share your ideas and let me know what your having! thanks!
we've been going to bonne boulangerie for our bread for years... and passing this cake sample every time in the shop..... we LOVE it.
We're getting this exact design, but with different colors.... celery green, ivory, and tiffany blue... Inside, it will be a chocolate cake with mocha buttercream and chocolate mousse (fuzzy cell phone pic )
I want the traditional old cake with the colums & everyone's telling me it's rediculous and no one has that anymore. I might have it anyway because that's what I always pictured and it's my wedding

I think we're going to have the very smooth/rounded tiers with ribbons around each layer: 1 ribbon in the tartan the groom's side is wearing, 1 in the color of the bridesmaid's dresses, 1 in jade (the accent color). And I want the little edible ball bearings in silver. It'll be a Dalek (Dr. Who) cake topper.

I was thinking of doing tiers and putting the flowers inbetween each tier. Very similar to the picture previously posted. I wouldn't worry about what others are doing. It's cake!

You can have whatever you want! It's your day!
We haven't met with the baker, yet... I know I wanta stacked cake, and we both want it to be chocolate with chocolate filling. (We LOVE chocolate)... Other than that, I'm not sure, yet. I need to start looking at pictures and deciding. Probably something simple and elegant, though.

I want a 5-6 round tier cake. I like the white cakes, nothing too messy in design, maybe with a ribbon decoration and dots and flowers or something 'clean and simple', similar to these:

I like the fruit ones--I saw a Martha Stewart one where they had sugared Queen Anne cherries and it was SO pretty.
I'm actually having three 'cakes.' One is a Martha Stewart wedding cheesecake made by my mom. It's going to be two or three tiers, I'm not sure how many she's doing. We got a really cute love birds topper for it, and it will be decorated with some piped decorations and fresh roses. Then we're having a tower of ninety cupcakes in pastel yellow, blue, and ivory, decorated with sugar flowers and pearlized sugar. Then we're having a chocolate groom's cake with a Giants theme. Lots of cake!! No pics, though, sorry!
