I've always had red bumps on my upper arms and never really thought about it. But after I saw the engagement pictures I realized how red they were. Apparently its keratosis pilaris... Does anyone have it too? How do you get rid of it? TIA!

Haha, now that I read Jess's thread, I want to write: no one? I guess no one cares....

I used to have it a lot on my upper arms. it went away more and more as i got older... but exfoliating gloves and body lotion seem to help

I have it. It means that your follicles are inflamed. I hate when people ask if I shave my arms. LOL. But, I use this Lubriderm lotion- the one in the white bottle with maroon trim. It's in a narrow bottle complete with a pump.

Hmm I noticed that too, my arms aren't AS red as they used to be.
Any type of body lotion in particular? Or can I just use regular ones?

Re: Anyone have keratosis pilaris?
OK HOLY COW! I just looked this up on Google and I HAVE THIS! The whole time I thought it was Excema and I have a dermatology appointment in late August to officially diagnose this as KP and to hopefully get some medicine to help clear it up before the wedding. WOW! Thank you so much for posting this. I never knew what it was. Now I can hopefully find some over the counter remedies. Thanks so much!

Haha, thankfully I've never been asked that. I wouldn't even know how to respond.
Thanks for the rec! I want to try to get rid of it before August (I know, starting a little late...)

Haha I had no idea either!! I was scheduling a dermatologist appointment for next weekend so I can try to get rid of it and I saw this MSN article about looking summer ready and it was on there! I was like hmm that sounds like what I have...

Well that diagnosis kind of ***** for us. I guess body lotion it is.
I have little red bumps on my upper arms. I find that if I use Shea Butter shower gel and lotion it really helps!
Looks like gel and lotion are the way to go, bed bath and beyond here I come!!

Re: Anyone have keratosis pilaris?
I use this lotion called AmLactin that really helps. You can google it. They sell it at CVS or Walgreen's..The website talks about how it helps keratosis pilaris. I got this other cream from the dermatologist with urea in it and I think it smells like pee so I can't use it!!

I have it. The doc prescribes me Finacea but there is something at Sephora that was recommended to me. Need to check my FM, I forgot what it was!
