anyone have or know someone that has scoliosis

I've had it since I was a teenager and its left a mark in the form of a slightly protruding rib bone. Its bothered me for a while now and makes me unable to wear bikini :(

am I the only one who has this?

My best friend had scoliosis as a child and she wore a back brace for most of elementary school and junior high. She had surgery in high school and they inserted rods. She had to keep the rods in for a few years and they finally came out. She has a LONG scar down her back from the surgery, but she tries not to let it bother her.

Right now her goddaughter (her sister's daughter) has it and she has to wear a brace, but my friend said they improved the braces now and they are not as clunky as they used to be.

I don't think you are alone. And I don't think you should worry about your ribs protruding. There are so many scary looking people wearing bikinis, I don't think ANYONE will point a finger at YOU.

I have a curve between my shoulder blades, so my one shoulder is slightly lower than the other. I've been going to a chiropractor since I was 19 to get adjusted (I just went yesterday).
I haven't really had any issues with the curvature, other than it seems that it will never totally get better.

I had it as a child (went to the doctor every year and had the x-rays and all..) but I fixed it without the help of a brace by swimming.
