Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I think its normal. I have felt that way but not for a long period of time. Just at times of turmoil, its a scary thing and you cant help but question yourself and the relationship. But as long as its a moments thought, i think its ok

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I will admit to having second thoughts at one point - and it was only because of the ILs. I told DH what was going on (because they were being ridiculous to me and my parents) and he really laid it down for them that I'm his new family and they have to know that I come first to him.
I know you've been having a rough time - if you need to talk, FM me!

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
i dont have second thoughts about my fh.... but i do get freaks out when i hear stories of couples beign married for 20 years and whammo divorce!! or...... what if 10 years down the road someone wakes up and out of the blue..doesnt even like their spouse.
i know nothing happens in a vacuum and there are always signs...but when i do hear stories like these its a bit scary.
but about fh , nope...gonna marry the cutie. but as we all know there are no crystal balls..and thats why i suppose we have to remember to work at relationships continuously xoxo jenn

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I think the whole wedding process is scary, but when you are with the right person that is supportive and with you 100% of the way, it knocks you back into reality. We dream about this moment since we are little girls and now it is here! It hits you like a brick sometimes, but in the end you have to be happy that you wake up every day next to the love of your life and just smile. The rest will fall into place :)

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
No second thoughts here. We did have some talks about how we are going to spend our lives and it is going to be some big changes for the both of us and there is still some more talking we have to do but no second thoughts.

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I wouldn't say I had second thoughts, but I didn't know if I was 100% certain. I'm just the type of person to second guess everything in my life--which college to go to, major to choose, career, job, home...Having divorced parents, I wondered if love really is enough, would we have enough money....
I've been married a year and change now, and I love it and am so happy. I never regretted my decision, but there were moments before the wedding when it hit me how monumental this decision was...I think who you marry is THE most important decision you make in your life, and IMO anyone who doesn't think long and hard about it isn't being honest. No one is perfect, and there are things about my DH I don't love...But in the end I know I am so much happier with him than without him. He's my best friend...Last week I told him he was like my arm--I just don't think I could function without him (awww I am so romantic). Good luck!

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I read this from Dr. Phil and thought it might help!
I've long believed that if you're looking for that perfect partner you're making a big mistake. If you can find an 80 percent fit and hope that you'll grow together on the other 20 percent, you'll find happiness a lot quicker. You wait for a 100 percent partner and you're going to be looking a long time, maybe forever. But if you're okay on the core issues -- children, careers, division of labor, religion, handling in-laws -- then you jump in and handle the other things as they come along.

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
The only second thoughts I've had is about postponing our date to a later time. THe only reason I want to do that is b/c I'm enjoying the planning part so much, I don't want it to end.

No second thoughts for me but I have had my share of 'OMG this is huge' thoughts. It's a little scary that is for sure!

no second thoughts but I bet feeling apprehensive is normal as long as it doesnt last a very long time. Its a big step comitting to someone for the rest of your life - some handle it better than others! good luck

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
had 2nd thoughts before we got engaged, i made sure he was aware of all issues with FMIL and FBIL.. I was afraid he wouldnt take it well and that would be the end, but I couldnt go into a marriage or engagement w/o having that in the open... If you knew them and the history you'd understand, but i know i have FH backing me up...

No way!!!!! I've been with my FH since I was 15!!! I always dreamed of marrying him and now its actually coming true. After all these years, and a daughter later, we are still very much in love.
Same with me!!!

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
I had second thoughts..not about marrying my FH..but marriage in general. I was married before, so my entire view of it was a bit warped. I then realized FH is the best thing that ever happened to me, and this is it ...for good.
If for some reason this doesn't work...I am becoming a nUN..HAHA

Re: Anyone have second thoughts?
Not about my FI but I definately have doubts about divorce in general. My parents are divorced and a friend of mine just recently announced she's getting divorced. People give up so easily and it scares me that one day he just might want to give up because that's pretty much what my dad did.
