Has anyone had second thoughts about marrying your FH at all? And if so, what were they about?

no second thoughts but I bet feeling apprehensive is normal as long as it doesnt last a very long time. Its a big step comitting to someone for the rest of your life - some handle it better than others! good luck

I don't have any second thoughts about him, but I do worry that one day he'll wake up and realize that I'm not the one for him. I have no basis for this concern though. I guess it's just another one of my irrational thoughts.

Well, I'm taking on a lot, because he comes equipped with a family, and we will be struggling financially for a while, and obviously that will delay us having our own kids, but we'll get thru it... We have so far!!!

I had 2nd thoughts 2 years ago & we actually broke up at that point, prior to becoming engaged (we were on the verge of becoming engaged), but looking back we both weren't ready & it wasn't the right time.
Now we still argue, mainly about money, but I know he's the guy for me.

In the beginning when we talked about marriage, I thought twice about it, because I wanted to be sure I was ready and because some people from my past were still trying to push themselves into the picture and attempting to confuse me and fill me with doubt.
As time has gone on however, I don't second guess my decision to marry FH at all. He has done more for me and been there for me more than anyone else in my past ever did combined.
It's normal to think twice about taking the next step into marriage, because it is a major step, but you should not be thinking twice about your FH unless there are legitimate concerns. (alcohol, drugs, abuse, disrespect, etc.)

Not at all!!! I have always known that we would get married. As the wedding got closer, I became even more sure.

I'm apprehensive about his apathy. He doesn't want to help with the wedding planning even though he's the one who wants it. And anytime I ask for an opinion he's afraid of giving me one 'cus he said he worries about being a critic. :P
I just hope he'll turn out to be a better dad than wedding planner. :)

I had second thoughts a few months ago, but we talked about it all, and I think I was just nervous about starting to plan, and it was all becoming very real. Some of it had to do w/ actually letting go of my single, carefree life, and some of it had to do w/ finding things out about FH that I hadn't known before. But I continue to learn more about him all the time, and vice versa. And it still scares me a bit, but I know at this point that we are strong enough to work through anything that comes our way!

No way!!!!! I've been with my FH since I was 15!!! I always dreamed of marrying him and now its actually coming true. After all these years, and a daughter later, we are still very much in love.

me too... it's like losing your identity! I may keep mine and add his name.. since I'm gaining a family, not losing my own. Plus I love my Italian last name!

I think lots of people have second thoughts. Not everything can always be champagne and roses. Having been married before I definitely had my hesitant moments. Not that I don't love and adore my FH. I do, he is like no other man I have ever met.
remember - getting married and buying a house are two of the most stressful things you will do together!

I dont have any second thoughts at all , but i do know that it is perfectly normal while dealing with stress and planning a wedding my best friend is married about a year now and she had second thoughts and she is soo very happy now and she doesent think it at all anymore
