Anyone have suggestions on reasonably priced wedding locations

Original post by AJP

I am thinking of a Spring or Fall 2005 wedding. Does anyone have suggestions for reasonably priced ($100 pp, 250 guest) in the NYC/Metro area?

For that many people I would not look at chateau la mar, or the harbor club. I have been there for events of 200 people, and it was a little squishy.

Ill keep thinking.

MCD, $100 is not unreasonable at all! It totally depends on the palce the time of year and the night or day of the week. $100 is not unreasonable at all!

There's alos le cordon bleu, if you're looking in NYC. That's the only place i've been toa wedding in the boros..no wait I went to one in the bx, but I forget where it was and it looked much more xpensive

If you're in Bklyn, I saw the Hudson River Yacht club and we liked it.

FYI - the Riviera cannot hold anywhere near 250...

You may also want to consider North Ritz Club, Fox Hollow, Westbury Manor, Chateau Briand, Leonard's of Great Neck, & LarkField Manor.

I just got married at the Miller Place Inn and they were very reasonable and so easy to deal with. It's really pretty there as well. People are still telling us how great the food was. Good Luck!

I think for 100 per person you can pretty much get married anywhere on LI with a regular reception if you are willing to be creative with the date/time, except:

Flowerfield
Lands End
Danfords
Oheka
Vanderbilt Mansion
de Seversky
Carlyle on the Green
Garden City Hotel

maybe I'm missing a couple, but you have many, many options in your price range.

It really depends on what you are looking for. In the city, it might be more $$ than on the island.
I know a few places that I can post for you but I'm not sure of the style you are looking for. I think you mentioned you want something in the metro NYC area....
Here a few....let me know if you want more.....

The Puck Building...located on 295 Lafayette Street...(212) 764-3188 and they said they can accomodate up to 250 guests.

Another is Trattoria Dopo Teatro's located on 125 W. 44th street.
www.dopoteatro.com

St.Bartholomew's Church...you can have the ceremony and the reception here as well. Located at Park Avenue and 51st Street.

Terrace on the Park--Queens..

Brooklyn Botanical Garden

Another place is The Mark on East 77th street

Studio 450
450 W. 31st Street
Loft with outdoor terrace.

Roosevelt Hotel - Madison and 45th Street

Harold Pratt House...Park Ave @68th street...

In Long Island, you may want to go and see:

Westbury Manor
Woodbury Country Club
Jericho Terrace
Port Jefferson Country Club
North Ritz Club

Let me know if you need more....Hope this is helpful.

Unfortunately it isn't large enough to hold that many guests. Speaking of did anyone see the bride & groom who got married there on the abc wedding special last week?

Also I think all places have a range depending not only when the wedding is, but what you want. Someone mentioned that they booked Leonard's for a Friday night for $55pp, a women at work booked them last week for her 2005 September wedding and is paying $90pp.

My FSIL is paying $60 a head at the Swan Club (a Sunday, but still a great price). What type of place are you looking for? One wedding at a time or no?

We had our engagement party at St. Bart's - it is beautiful!!! This is a great location for a summer wedding, because they can accomodate you outside on their terrace as well. They specialize their menus based on what you want & the event so their prices drastically range. But I am sure they can work with you.

Also I have been to The Puck Building many times for corporate functions (Holiday parties, recruiting events, etc) and it is really nice. It has these very high cielings. They always have beautiful white twinkle lights, there is so much you can do with the location. I think you have to bring in your own caterer. T
