I registered for this - however, when I went on the baby's r us web site - there were a few negitive comments - people were saying it was difficult to install. I know Britex is supposed to be the best however, I feel I have so many expensive items on my registry already - I don't want to put another item on there for $250.00 - can anyone suggest another one that is a little less money.

Re: Anyone have the Eddie Bauer car seat?
Im at that stage now where DD is growing out of her infant carrier/car seat. I was looking into a car seat for her. Im in the same boat as you. I dont have an Eddie Bauer... but I do think I am going to get her the Britax... its the safety and comfort of my little angle... $250 is a small price to pay (If you go to... uhhh www.epinions.com and look up Britax you can find the seat for cheaper than @ Babies R Us)

So do you agree that Britex is the best and there aren't any other car seants that are just as good?

Junebride, I would hold off on the toddler car seat for now, and just register for the infant carrier/car seat. You won't need the larger seat for several months, and you can take your time w/research and deciding.
I am in the same boat BTW - I need a new car seat soon and have no idea which one to get.

Re: Anyone have the Eddie Bauer car seat?
June I think there are some carseats that are on the same level as Britax. I've just heard very good things about that brand. I just think that the safety of my little girl is very important. Thats the reason I bought a 30k car with 8 airbags and steel in the doors...

Re: Anyone have the Eddie Bauer car seat?
From what I have read-Britax is the # 1 carseat for safety-- we went thru this with my SIl--she ended up getting less expensive car seats for the twins for the same reason and ended up returning the 2 she was given and put in the extra money to upgrade to the Britax--I have heard great success stories about their safety-- Laura

Re: Anyone have the Eddie Bauer car seat?
I have been in your position recently so here's my advice. Don't make choices for your registry based on price and concern over it being too expensive. Make your choices based on what your research has yielded as the best choice for you. When it comes to shower gifts, people do chip ins so you may get a $250 carseat. My SIL's did that with my $300 stroller. And if you don't get it, I guarantee you that you'll probably end with some gift cards and returns for credit that you'll be able to purchase it afterwards. If you want the Britax, register for the Britax. Especially when it comes to baby's safety, I wouldn't want my second choice. When I did my registry, there were definitely some pricier things on there but I made my choices based on what I learned in researching it, not just by picking the most expensive things and I'm sure you are doing the same. It'll all work out fine in the end.
PS: We have a Britax carseat. Luke is still in the infant carseat so we have not used it yet but it was definitely top rated straight across the board. I got the Roundabout which is $200. HTH

Re: Anyone have the Eddie Bauer car seat?
I also remember that if a Britax is in an accident... Britax will replace the seat free of charge!!!
