Anyone have thoughts yet on ceremony music?

Anyone have thoughts yet on ceremony music?

Has anyone thought about ceremony music yet?? I know it's kinda early but just curious. I'm thinking that I want to go untraditional...no canon D or bridal march. I really like the feel of Enya or Beautiful Day by U2. I'm using my DJ for my ceremony music.

I haven't really given too much thought to it yet, but I think I might look into a string trio or quartet. We'll see about $$$ though. If its too expensive, I'll use the DJ as well.

I read about someone who used a string quartet and they played 'Bittersweet Symphony' for her processional, I thought that was such a great idea, I might steal it!

Steal away, that's a good idea! I would have love to have a string trio or quartet. I love live music! It gives such a classy feel.

I hired the Vintage String Quartet (advertised on liweddings of course) and they are AMAZING!! They were very reasonably priced and they are basically willing to play anything we ask. Oddly enough, that is the vendor i am looking most forward to! I think it will give the ceremony such a romantic feel.

I want to get a harpist for our ceremony. I got a reasonable quote from a vendor on here. As for the music itself, I want to walk down to 'All I ask of you' from Phantom of the Opera and the bridal party will walk down to 'Here, There and Everywhere' by the Beatles.

I got a quote from Katharine Saxton, she's a vendor on here.

This is what she wrote to me:

'For a ceremony, I charge $325. This includes 20 minutes of prelude music (while your guests are coming in and sitting down, waiting for you to walk down the aisle), all the music for the ceremony, and a little extra at the end while your guests are moving out and in to the cocktail hour.'

My Aunt plays the piano and sings so I am going to ask her to do our ceremony music. I want to have the BP walk into Counting Crows 'Colorblind' no singing, and I'll walk into 'You are so beautiful' by Westlife (it's a remake of my parents wedding song).
Then for the recessional I am going to have her play 'Clocks' by Coldplay (again so singing, just instrumental). So yeah I guess I thought about it.

I've definitely thought about it....I think I want to have our DJ do it since I have very particular songs I want. Im still debating on the BP entrance, but for my entrance I want Paul McCartney's 'Maybe Im Amazed' with all the words since I LOVE that song and then Bittersweet Symphony for the recessional.

I found some piano renditions of nine inch nails and other rock bands that we are going to use....If you didn't already know the songs you would never know what it was...it is really pretty! FH also likes one of the slow songs from Edward Scissor Hands that is really pretty...so we are going with that...I hear on not wanting traditional!

Oh...and after we kiss I want somewhere over the rainbow by the Hawaiian guy....so pretty!

I dunno, probably whatever the church provides???

For CH though, we are going with a local acoustic bluegrass band that is going to play all of our favorite classic rock songs:

Mexico/James Taylor
Bell Bottom Blues/Eric Clapton
Take It Easy/Eagles
Songbird/Fleetwood Mac

And a TOOOOON more!

Im using FM for the ceremony also.
We are having the bridal party walk down to 'All You Need is Love'.
I am going to walk down to 'Something' by The Beatles and we will walk down as Mr. and Mrs. to 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand', yes also by The Beatles.

I believe we are going with the string quartet from bravura entertainment. They sound & perform beautifully. FM if you would like to know the price.

For Brides looking for a harpist. Janet King is really good. She has samples online.

we asked FH's cousin to sing at the ceremony...I was thinking I wanted her to sing In My Life by The Beatles but when we asked her FH's aunt got all excited and said 'OMG you have to sing Ave Maria'
so we'll see what happens
