Anyone have to provide a chuppah?

We're having our ceremony performed by both a minister and a rabbi and we need a chuppah also!!! I have asked around and I haven't heard of anything less than $1000. But I also heard that I should ask the rabbi performing the ceremony that sometimes they have access to them.
Good Luck!!! But I would like to hear where you got the $150 price from!!

Anyone have to provide a chuppah?

We are getting married by a rabbi and priest in Feburary of 2002. I think our Rabbi has a chuppah but I will look into it. If he doesn't have one please let me know where I can get one. $1,000 does seem a bit much. Where can I rent the one for $150? I do have a question since we are getting married by a rabbi and a priest do we still do precana. I am not sure about that and we do not have a priest yet so I can't ask him.

I'm not sure if you still have to or not!!! Since my FI is Lutheren it's a Lutheren minister that's marrying us...and if I'm correct my FI's family said that the don't do the pre-cana thing! They just want to sit you down and talk to you about everything.

I was just wondering how the rental is arranged...do you have to have someone set it up and than return it afterwards or do they take care of all of that???
I'm thinking about getting my gown made, just wanted to know who you are using. I live in the city so any help would be appreciated.

Anyone have to provide a chuppah? RACHEL, read

That's a good idea and I've heard of other people doing that but it won't be possible for me. See I've only heard of people making there own chuppahs like that if their ceremony was being held outdoors than they can stick the bottom of the poles in the ground so it stays up...I'm getting married indoors at a unitarian chapel with both a rabbi and a minister so I don't have a ground to stick the ends in and it's already gonna be a little too crowded to have anyone extra up there holding the ends of the poles.
1. They were not able to show us albums by specific photographers (eventhough they were all good)
