I was in a wedding about 12 years ago, we (my sis and I) had, and I quote, 'Irredescent plum and black velvet'. We didn't like them much b/c we were like 15, but sounds interesting now- I was thinking of cranberry color for mine and might be a richer color then whatever the regular dresses are.

I actually went to a wedding last winter and the girls wore empire waist black crushed velvet dresses. It was very pretty.

I was in a wedding 3 years ago, and we wore georgette gowns with velvet straps and belt accents. They were gorgeous...still would be if they made them! They were in cranberry. I love love love velvet on evening gowns for the winter!

My girls are wearing half velvet half satin dresses.

I was in a wedding about 4 years ago and we wore blue velvet gowns by Watters and Watters - they had a wide neckline - almost off the shoulders, longsleeves and straight with a little train...they were GORGEOUS.
