anyone having BM's in same color but different styles?

Original post by nehaliasz

I really want to have the BM's in the same color/fabric, but in different sperates so that each girl has what she likes and what flatters her body type the best. I was planning on going wit the ones at David's bridal, but I want the sea mist and my mother thinks I'm making a huge mistake because it will look washed out, and she thinks I should go with the red. As much as I've tried to get used to it, I just don't feel like I want to have red for a June wedding. I'm just not able to imagine it. FH doesn't like the red for summer either. If we go with the red, its only because my mom wants it, and I don't want to do that.
SO, I want to look into other seperates with different styles, but I don't know where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I am having my girls in the SeaMist separates from David's. They look gorgeous! My girls were so happy. All of them have different tops as well as different skirts. They chose what was their style and comfort level. The flowers will all be the same to tie it all together.

I think it's a great idea. I don't think the color washes them out. It looks great. I can't wait! I'll post pics of my wedding sometime in April. I'm not sure if you can wait that long! here's what they'll look like:

I did this. Al my girls wore their own black separates by bill levkoff & they were all in love with their dresses.

I agree, sea mist is a difficult color, but if your girls look good in it, who cares? i think red is equally as difficult, so it may not be the answer.

Other shops have the coordinated separates, so maybe if you shop around a bit you can find some other color options if you find it presents a problem.

ETA: the color you are referring to also looks a bit platinum in certain materials. I think it is actually a very bright color - not washed out.

you should pick out the color you want...the seamist sounds fine...

im also having different styles but with the same color... i think its fine as long as its not extremely differnent..

i actually just switched to a cranberry red color, and people think that its 'great for the fall season'... in my head i just picked out the color i liked which is what matters most..

my bms are wearing different style dresses but the same color (lilac) from David's Bridal. I had to go w/ David's Bridal b/c 4 of my girls live out of state and there is a DB in their state. This makes my life easy and my girls are happy with the choices they've made.

StepherG: That is the exact color that I want for my girls from David's!!! I am so in love with it. I don't think it'll be washed out either. I finally told my mom that since FH and I both dont see us using red for June, the only reason why we'd go with it is because she wanted it, and I don't feel comfortable doing that. I'm proud of myself for saying it. She got a little defensive, but then agreed that she wouldn't want that either.

I am having my girls in different styles from Alfred Angelo in Butter, which is a very pale yellow color.

Everyone told me it will look white or ivory in my photos, so I asked my PHOTOGRAPHER and he said absolutely NOT. He gets paid to produce great pictures & that includes color & detail.

So, you should pick what you like & if you have any reservations about the color of the dresses in the photos, ask your photographer.

I am having my girls pick their own dresses. I want Black dresses and around mid-calf. Besides that I want them to feel good about what they are wearing.
