anyone having BM's in same color but different styles?
I really want to have the BM's in the same color/fabric, but in different sperates so that each girl has what she likes and what flatters her body type the best. I was planning on going wit the ones at David's bridal, but I want the sea mist and my mother thinks I'm making a huge mistake because it will look washed out, and she thinks I should go with the red. As much as I've tried to get used to it, I just don't feel like I want to have red for a June wedding. I'm just not able to imagine it. FH doesn't like the red for summer either. If we go with the red, its only because my mom wants it, and I don't want to do that. SO, I want to look into other seperates with different styles, but I don't know where to begin. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

My girls are wearing 4 different dresses from the same designer - Jasmine B2 line.
If you are looking for separates to mix and match - try Alfred Angelo

My mom's making my girls dresses, but I bought the material.
Do what you want! It's your wedding, pick your own color! Neither your or you FI want red, so why is that even up for discussion? Listen to other people, but make your own decision and don't let them do it for you!

i got my girls dresses at estells all very differant but same color! i too wanted them to get a dress that would look good on them and a dress they could possible use again! i know all the weddings i have been in i hated to send soooo much money on them then not to even be able to wear it again. my moh though she was the only one that got her dress from the same place i got mine and it was a 2 tone dress seice the dresses where differant. her dress is candlelight top with two rows going acroos the dress of the color and bead work and the bottom is the color of the girls! just a thought i had and it works great!

That's what we're doing...
After six in burgandy satin with burgandy chiffon stoles...I'm very excited about how nice they will look. All ended up being 2 piece with one one piece...

Mine too
Different styles or all the same? I went back and forth, ultimately to make it easier for mom I selected the same style flattering for all...
Is your mom making your gown as well?

i'm having 9 girls in my bridal party, and i'm going to let them choose their own style. It think it would look very nice, as long as they are all the same color & fabric. I think you should choose whatever colors you like!
Oh..i think my dresses will be from Impressionbridal.com

My girls can pick any dress they want but they have to be by Dessy/After Six in matte satin Espresso (chocolate). I'm shopping with MOH to find a dress that coordinates with my dress though.

I did it and you can search for my wedding pics if you like. I did After Six/Dessy and I picked the fabric (matte satin) and color (Bordeaux). The girls had lots to pick from and I loved it. Some girls liked the idea and some didn't (they wanted the decision to be made for them) but I feel it let them express their individuality which is impt to me. After Six/Dessy has tons of colors and fabrics to chose from.
I was in another bridal party who did this and we used Jessica McClintock dresses. My friend did it with Watters and Watters dresses.

Re: anyone having BM's in same color but different styles?
I did almost exactly what Niecey posted - After-Six/Dessy dresses, but in Claret. My BMs and MOHs all picked which they wanted to wear. One was a one piece dress, the others two piece. Some were strapless, halter, etc. I had 6 girls in 6 different dresses - it looked GREAT!
I never understood the idea of BMs looking like clones. They're individuals and thought they should look and feel good.
I've also been a BM, where the bride picked out the skirt for us all to wear, and we were able to select from different tops.

I picked a color (light silver) and let everyone get their own. I have girls of all shapes, sizes & ages so that was the best thing I thought.
