Anyone having their Ceremony Outside of

Long Island, and then having their Reception in Long Island?

Just wondering what the time break is between ceremony and reception, and whether or not you're concerned that most of the guests will attend only the reception?

TIA!

Although I'm nowhere near booking a reception, most likely it will be in brooklyn or queens. I figured I would put the reception an hour and a half later to give people a chance to make it on time from manhattan.
ceremony is either between 12:30 to 1:00 and I figured I could start the reception at 2:00.
In my case, I think probably some people will miss the ceremony and just go to the reception.

Our ceremony is at 3 in downtown Brooklyn, and our reception is at 7:00 in woodbury.

Do you think a 3 hour gap is too much? I wanted to take traffic and pictures into consideration.

It takes approximately 35 minutes, but who knows with Sunday traffic, or accidents that might occur. Who knows w/the LIE.

I don't think that's too bad, if anything people will find something else to do in between.
the way I see it, those that really want to be there, will be at the ceremony and reception.

HELLO THERE!

as it stands, we are having our ceremony begin at 3:30- also in downtown brooklyn. for some crazy reason, FH want to do the full mass, and it will be bilingual, so it should run at least an hour

that brings us to 4:30- it takes about 45 minutes on a normal day to get to Westbury, and my CH starts at 7 pm.

I am thinking of opening up the rec center under my church for beverages (ONLY) after the ceremony or asking someone to open up their home nearby. I really don't expect anyone more than family and very close friends to attend the ceremony so it may work out.

Christine, it might be better for you to see if your church has something like that, since you don't want your family trekking back to BR to then have to take the Belt Pkway! akkkkk! they can take the bqe better or the Atlantic Ave to the Jackie Robinson.....
