I did - my mom did most of the work, why should my dad get all the glory. It's tradition in Jewish weddings. I'm not Jewish, but still.....

This is what I am thinking. My mom did this for my sister's wedding a few years ago, with my dad. She wants to do it for mine too, and now that I know it's a jewish tradition, I wonder if it will look strange? I kinda want to walk down with just my dad, but i don't want to hurt my mom's feelings, so most likely, it will be both of them.

My son is walking me . If not, it would have been my mom...

well, being that i am jewish it certainly is not breaking tradition - it is tradition

both of my parents walked me down the aisle

on the one hand, i think it is a nice way to show your love and appreciation to both parents, but being that it is not your tradition, it might be as weird as if I only had my dad - that would have killed my mom because its not our tradition

I'm having both my mom and dad walk me down the aisle. It's both to honor both my parents, plus it's Jewish tradition. Even if you're not Jewish, I think it's a beautiful thing.

My mom wanted to walk me down because my DH's parents walked him down. He is jewish i am not.
so i really just wanted my dad to do it

We compromised and my mother and sister walked down right before me. My sister was my MOH

I did (I am Jewish), but I have also seen my non-Jewish friends walk in with both parents as well....

Don't look at it as 'breaking tradition' - look it as including two of the most important people in your life. As my mom put it, why shouldn't the mothers be included in walking you down the aisle? They're the ones that endured 9 months of pregnancy and labor!

my cousin did it at her wedding. I don't think it's strange at all..even if it isn't your tradition. I think since they both mean a lot to you it would be a nice thing!!!

I had them both walk me down and I can't tell you how happy I am that I decided to do this. I couldn't imagine it any other way and wonder why it isn't a tradition too! Go for it!

I had both my parents walk me down. I felt that my mom definitely needed to be included in that since she was a huge part in raising me. Plus, my mom dropped the hint years ago that she thought it was a nice idea after my cousin did that with her parents!

im having my dad walk me down the aisle and then im stopping at my mom's pew and having her join us at the end of the aisle to 'give me away' with my dad.

at least that's the plan in my head.
