Anyone having their teeth whitened (bleached) for the occasion?
I'm seriously thinking of getting my teeth professionally whitened by my dentist. As a former smoker and still-coffee-drinker, my teeth, while straight, would look great in the photos and forever after if I got them done. Anyone else?

I got mine bleached last year. I can do it at home anytime to brighten up. I still have about 10 treatments left. I think it was about 350 and worth every penny. When I look at old pics I am shocked how yellow my teeth were- now when they get a little dingy, I just do a couple of treatments. I plan on doing many leading up to the wedding. Your smile really is important.
Oh and I used Opalecence.

I did. I did Brite Smile the end of July for my October 1 wedding.
So, glad I did it!!!

I did it a couple of years ago, and am going to do it for the wedding...don't do it too close though, it takes a few weeks (like an hour a night) and your gums may be a little sensitive! Worth it thought..about $400! good luck

I will be getting mine done. I've used a whitener that I got on e-bay and I thought it was pretty good, but this time I will do whatever my dentist recommends. He'll be honest with me about what I need. I thought that my teeth were very white, until I tried on wedding gowns.

Yea my dentist is a friend of the family since I was a baby, so he told me to make an appointment before the wedding and he'd do it for me, I can't wait!

I use bleaching trays made by the dentist.....they work the best (atleast for me) and you can always purchase more tubes of bleach to touch up.
Bright whites!!!!!!

I used the Crest Premium White Strips - I had asked my dentist about it and he said before I spend a lot of money to try the white strips first - he said so many people had such great results that they never even needed to do it afterwards - the results for me with the white strips were fantastic!

Just started thed 5day Rembrandt white strips last night. I am very noncomliant with everything and so I found the bleaching system that was the quickest! It did hurt towards the last 10 minutes...I almost had to take it off early. Hope I'm able to do it tonight.

Wow - good to know a lot of people are considering it and/or have done it. I thought I was just being a little too indulgent, but I think it will be so worth it. And, I'm a little impatient and non-compliant too, so I'm doing chair-side only - meaning the process will take about an hour and a half only (without the trays to take home). They use some kind of black light with the process. It's $525 chair-side only, and like $800 with the trays. I'm just able to eke out the $525.
