Instead of the fountain they are dipping stuff like fruit and marshmallows in 2 types of choloclate??

do you have any other upgrade ideas???
the only thing theythrough in was candy apples.. my FH is big on candy and the BM said it's a wedding.. they don't do candy it's more for a sweet 16.. i was pretty PO'ed about that so were bringing in our own vender to do cotton candy and stuff..

did you have the same problem???

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

I didnt ask about the cotton candy only because I feel like it never really gets much use but I am going to speak to her about the candy apples. I am sure there will be more than enough there. What i dont understand is why they do an italian ice stand and a haagen dazs stand as well. She said that there would be chocolate covered strawberries but I really liked the chocolate fountain so I am going to go and see if she can throw that in for me as well otherwise I will just pay for it. The person I used was very helpful. Her name was Tracy and I thought she was great. What room are you getting married in? The other upgarde I did was the jumbo shrimp and the lobster tails and claws in the cocktail hour. I figured that should be more than enough.

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

we have the whole top floor with the 2 bridal suites... b/c 1 turns in the v-hour.. i didn't want it to be brought out onto the floor.. b/c i though that would take way from the party..

they said the'd have to move all of my BM stuff out of the room.. i was very uneasy about that so i requested we put all the stuff in the room with me and my FH so we have the two on the contract..

even thoguh they may be doing 2 parties at the same time.. we will never see the other bride.. b/c the bathrooms, cocktail room, banquet room & bridal suites are all on the same floor..

my& my Fh family big candy people.. thats y it's something that we wanted but out BM told us it wasn't a good idea.. i wan't happy with that

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

Sound really nice. I am having the whole bottom floor b/c I have over 300 guests. Same as you. Our cocktail hour room is attached and seperated from the other room so when they do the V-hour they will just open that wall again and put the v-hour in there. I didnt want it on the dance floor either. I wonder why they told you cany was not a good idea. Strange and that was kind of inappropriate. Well they are in for a surprise b/c I want candy apples as well. Who did you deal with there.

You know what I think the place is beautiful and I love it there so I am sure we will both be very happy.

to be honest i don't remember his name.. i remember we spoke with him in the room with the glass when you walkin into the smelly basement

what he said about the cotton candy was b/c we having kids there.. there gonna get it all over the place and touch there mom's expensive dress and get them dirty( thought this was a pretty bad excuse) but our parents bought it.. there in for a treat when i order it

it's my day not theres

That's funny. When I went there the office downstairs was sparkling clean. They probably said that about the candy because they didn't want to add it in. I will let you know when she returns my call what they tell me because I want the candy apples as well. This should be interesting.

I also wanted to do the candy apples and cotton candy and a candy bar but was told it was not a good idea and I was upset but now that the wedding has happened I see why it was not a good idea, they give you so much stuff and good stuff at that, that the cany ect would not get used, I would not stress about it because you will be extremely happy with what they give you I had the top of the line affair and it ran circles around Russos

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

Hey there Leonards Ladies!!

I hate to bump in, but I have a few questions. (I realize my profile says CLM, I don't know how to change it, but I have not booked anything yet.)

So anyhoo, I fly into NY this Wednesday, to check out Leonards and Chateau La Mer one last time. This is basically what I have my choices down to. I have not been to Leonards in a year, so I will be getting a new quote. I hate to be tacky, but if you are willing to tell me, what price should I be looking at for a Sunday, upgrade package with venetian, this is if you don't mind of course. I hope everyone has a great week. Again I'm new at this so all of your help will be appreciated.

Good luck Ladies!!

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

to be honest my FH didn't want friday or sunday so we didn't even ask..

how many people are you having, which room did you look at

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

I did price around for curiosity even though I am having a Saturday night and with a v-hour included I don't think they should charge you more than $115 pp for a Sunday or Friday affair and that is including tax. Definately haggle with them. Never take the first price because it is like buying a car. LOL

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

Thanks, you guys are soo helpful!!

Well we looked at both rooms, the middle sized one, and the larger one(mainly because we don't have any idea of how many guests we are having, we both come from huge families, so anywhere between 200-300) When he gets back from Iraq we will have a better idea. I have been speaking with Enzo and he has been great. So I go on Thursday to look again and possible haggle a price. I am pretty sure I have it down to Chateau La Mer and Leonards.

I like leonards because of its location too, very close and easy for everyone . Not to mention, v-hour looks amazing!!!

Re: Anyone having their wedding at lennards??

Good luck to you. I love all of their rooms. I think they are so elegant. I had to have the grand ballroom ( i think that is what it is called) on the first floor because I am going to have over 300 guests and the other room only fit 300 maximum. Plus I wanted to have 1/2 of my cocktail hour outside.

Let us know who it goes.
