Anyone hear any updates on Fortunoff?

I am wondering if I should close my registry while I still have time....

Ok...from what I understand...they filed for bankruptcy but are not closing. Lord and Taylor is considering acting as their investor to keep them afloat. I'll keep you updated as I hear more from my fmil!

I transfered over the big ticket items, like small appliances this week, my shower invites just went out, there is bedding i like better at fortunoff so i may keep that on there.

I put most stuff on my Bed Bath and Beyond Registry.
I hear they are amazing with returns and fortunoff is a pain in the a$$

I cant close my fortunoff completely causemy shower invites are out already
i would close it out and transfer my stuff to BBB

I don't think that they are going to close. I read an article that said in a quote from the head of Lord N Taylor, that they want to open more stores and make it upscale.

My mom and i are going their this weekend to buy the rest of my china. Thankfully I already had my shower and only need to more place settings.

they are not closing, Lord and Taylor is buying them so now L &T is going to be like a bigger department store but the change of name (if even happen) can take up to a year for a transition to happen.

they aren't closing. they have just filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. This just means they don't have to answer to their creditors while they figure out their financials. L&T will most likely purchase them, but keep them as Fortunoff for a few years and slowly integrate into one store which carries all fortunoff items and all L&T items.

Our registries are safe. They even got a line of credit for each month to keep purchasing so their stock will same the same and they will have the same items available.
