Anyone Hear Of The 'Mothman'?

i remember seeing 'the mothman prophecies' but dont remember too much. i had no idea it was based on a 'true' thing.

anyone know about this Mothman fella?

i remember when i saw the movie that they said something about the movie being based uppon real events, so hey, you never know.

i know it's based on real events, but i don't know much about it. a bunch of my friends knew about it (i'm pretty close to WV) so I'll ask around

I had tried doing a search way back when the movie came out but got NOTHING!

I think the bridge collapse was real not the Mothman theory!

I even had a friend who lived near the area and said he never heard of it

Just took this off the LiOddities site:

In John Keel's 'The Mothman Prophecies', a couple driving along a road in the Mount Misery area had a strange encounter. The man driving complained of being suddenly ill, pulled over, and slumped down, unconscious. Before his wife could react there was a binding flash of light from the woods and she was suddenly unable to move. The next thing she knew, they were driving along on Old Country Road.

The man driving complained of being suddenly ill, pulled over, and slumped down, unconscious. Before his wife could react there was a binding flash of light from the woods and she was suddenly unable to move. The next thing she knew, they were driving along on Old Country Road.


But it didn't take place on LI???

I was confused about that too --- I never saw the movie.
