I saw ad add in a bridal magazine and a friend of my moms got married their. I heard its quite resonable and beautiful. Just wondering your thoughts. We made an appointment to speak with them tomorrow.
I know my clock says 9 a.m. , I just set that for myself so my wedding clock reads better.
My ceremony was at 3:30 and my reception was at 7:00

Don't knock the Brentwood County Club. I went to a wedding there 2 years ago and the food was really, really good. Plenty of food at the cocktail hour. Very reasonably priced, too.

oh yea.. the chateau la mer isnt that expennnsive?? It looks like it would be
I refuse to get married at windows on the lake only because I live pretty much around the corner and have been to a million things there. I actually got engaged across the street though at the beach LOL
Swan club... I havent checked that out yet either.
You would think Chateau La Mer is expensive but it really isn't. I'll FM you with details.

Re: anyone heard anything about...
I am getting married in Dec of 05 and I have to say I have been getting pretty good deals for a Sat night wedding. I have not made a decision yet but I am leaning toward the Hamlet Wind Watch at that is 80.
Chateau Le Mer was 75 but i heard from numerous people that the food was not good.
The Swan Club in Rosyln was nice and they wanted 72 and that included the vineetion hour.
Bellport Country Club was 85
Riviera in Massapequa was 65 but the cocktail hour room only holds about 75 people it is really tiny. That is the only reason why I didnt book that on the spot
Stewart Manor also 65 but it is in the middle of a residential street and that was a turn off for me it just didnt fit in.

Try Fox Hollow...our wedding is going to be about the same size and we were in the same price range. I think we got a great deal there and they seemed to be very flexible!

In regards to the Mediterranean Manor, I just attended a wedding there last night. The food was okay my suggestions if you are going to have more than 200 guests don't have it there. The cocktail hour was very pack we had no where to sit we were standing. The reception felt like we were so close to the tables. I didn't like it at all, it wasn't elegant at all. If you have any more questions let me know.
The new Lombardi's on the Sound is very pretty and I heard very reasonable- it's the renovated Port Jeff Country Club otherwise more affordable choices are:
East Wind (Country Gardens or the Ball Room)
Windows on the Lake
Middle Island Country Club
Arriana Waterfall
Rock Hill Country Club
Majestic Gardens
East wind is not that affordable
Neither is Lombardi's I was quoted like 130 pp there, it was reasonable VERY reasonable before the renovations were done

I think it's funny that you say that since I have been to the HTH and didn't think it was anything special.
Different Stroke for Different Folks I guess....

Re: anyone heard anything about...
You can most likely do CLM on a Friday night or Sunday for under $90 pp. We're paying just under $90, but then again we guaranteed 200 people. And BTW...the food is excellent there!

Listen any place can be reasonable even in May June etc. it is how you talk to the caterering hall. You are in charge remember that Dont be afraid to push for extras, lowering the price, and so on. Remember they need your business ok

Re: anyone heard anything about...
I havent been to a wedding there however, I live in patchogue and pass it all the time. It is in the worse part of town, there are abandoned buildings very close by (a theatre & pizza hut) it is on a very busy street and just looks tacky. No offence to anyone who has gotten married there, but that's just the one place when we started looking that was just absolutly out of the question.

FH and I went and looked at the Med. Manor. too. They have great prices but we didn't like the location or the decor. It reminded me of an 80's catering hall with the wicker bride and groom chairs. Sorry to anyone who chose that place.
A nicer place with the same pricing is the Meadow Club. The place is really pretty and they offered more for your money.

Re: anyone heard anything about...
we checked the mediterrean manor but we got a better deal with the Miller place inn it is soo much better. we got a mini vinanesse table for free also the people got a second dish for dinner if they wanted it. we also had desserts out in the room where my cocktail hour was and they threw in cannolis for us because thats what we wanted the cake was delicious we used alphine bakery but that was also included witht he reception hall. check it out.

Re: anyone heard anything about...
We found that in looking around, Med Manor offered a lot for your money, the food is great and we like it there. Its not overdone like a lot of the halls out here on LI tend to be.
The way I see it is that people tend to lose sight of what the day is really about by having so many extras and caring more about how much money they spend and what other people think of it then on having a great day getting married to someone they love and enjoying time with family and friends. Everyone should have a great time and the location of the hall is not the reason why someone enjoys themself.
Some people are so shallow and I think a lot of people are only happy to be planning a wedding and not happy just to be spending their life with the man/woman they are in love with.

Re: anyone heard anything about...
The Holbrook CC is not doing anything right now-the caterers flew the coop....however, I would STRONGLY rec Timber Point - I booked there for this July on a Fri evening-you can not beat their prices and it's a beautiful place-any questions FM me
