I went to a Bridal showcase there and I really thought it was tackey... They have these big torches in the front with fake fire coming out of them.....

Check it out.... They always have showcases there..... It is really the best way to see if you like it.

Good luck.

Remember it depends on your style that you are looking for

Someone said the bellport manor was pretty nice as well. Any other suggestions???

I checked that place out. It wasn't my style. I was also on a budget. The Huntington Townhouse, Brentwood Country Club, Holbrook Country Club, and The Meadow Club in Port Jeff. all are reasonably priced.

ETA: What is your budget and how many people?

The new Lombardi's on the Sound is very pretty and I heard very reasonable- it's the renovated Port Jeff Country Club otherwise more affordable choices are:

East Wind (Country Gardens or the Ball Room)

Windows on the Lake

Middle Island Country Club

Arriana Waterfall

Rock Hill Country Club

Majestic Gardens

A friend of mine got married there this summer. I had a lot of fun there. Another wedding was going on at the same time (I don't know if that is something u care about). You can FM if u want.

well we dont have an exact budget just yet because we are newly engaged... but we also still both live at home and have to think about saving for a place to live as well

We are thinking we will have around 100-1120 people at the wedding

If you aren't set on Suffolk, George Wahington Manor & the Milleridge Carriage House are reasonable ( same owners).

Check out Stewart Manor Country Club, too.

Other nice places that are good on a budget but still specatular are as follows:
Windows on the Lake
Swan Club

***Chateau La Mer*** (sorry, I'm a bit biased here.)

Re: anyone heard anything about...

oh yea.. the chateau la mer isnt that expennnsive?? It looks like it would be

I refuse to get married at windows on the lake only because I live pretty much around the corner and have been to a million things there. I actually got engaged across the street though at the beach LOL

Swan club... I havent checked that out yet either.

I went to a wedding there last year and this was my personal impression of the place.

May 2003 – Saturday Evening Wedding
Meditteranean Manor
I enjoyed the cocktail hour food and so glad I did. The reception hour food was not good at all. I actually felt that the room for the cocktail hour Iin comparison was prettier than the actual room for the reception and there was plenty of seating. The staff was cordial and attentive when serving the food but I was never asked for them to bring drinks to the table. We thought they were a bit disorganized and sort of rushing through things…so much in a rush that we heard a big crash from the kitchen where all the plates sound like they fell on the floor and we heard it even with the music on. Everyone just applauded when that happened.

East wind is not that affordable

I think the Riveria in Massapequa is pretty reasonable.

Re: anyone heard anything about...

well it looks as though if I want under 90 I need to get married on a friday night instead of a saturday.

Anyone have a reason for or against friday night weddings?
