I have been searching for a place to get married that fits my style (simple elegance) and budget, but hadn't had any luck. I found this list of venues and saw Captain Bills and laughed, because it sounds so cheezy and that's my fiance's name. I checked it anyway out and it's sooo perfect!! Its right on the water, beautiful room and layout, and the price is good!
Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has had a wedding or been to a wedding/ event there... I know nothing about it besides what I see on the website. How is the food, service, etc?? Thanks!!

my mom was there yesterday for a work luncheon and has not stopped talking about how great itd be for a wedding. i know people who've been to weddings there and apparently its amazing. hope all goes well!

I looked there and the room was gorgeous and huge, but the cocktail hour is on a deck and everyone's boat was right there......I felt a little wierd about that..........JMO

i agree... we looked at it too and it is def absolutely gorgeous...but this was sorta an issue along with the fact that the CH room is on the deck which os beautiful, but we are getting married in july and there is no AC

We are getting married there. I've been to a few weddings there before, and have eaten dinner there numerous times, the food is great. We are having our CH in the Harbor View Room, and then go next door to the Bayview house. In the summer the CH is tented, near the dock. Plus, the price was great that we got! we were thisclose to booking captain bills. Unfortunately they couldnt hold our 250+ guests. Coming from a water loving POV, I loved the beachy/boat feel. It is a great reception location on the south shore with amazing views.

I liked it there alot very pretty but you had to walk through the reception room to get to the cocktail hour I didn't like that

that is so weird....the sales girl at the photographer we just went to used to be the banquet manager there and got married there. she had to quit b/c she had a kid and needed more flexible hours...i saw pics and they were really beautiful

my cousin had reception there in like 2000 and we loved it, yes the cocktail hour in on the deck but it was nice and the reception room is beautiful and ya the food was awesome! i have also been to the restaurant and love it and would love to have my shower there but it is too far for some guests... good luck

I've heard captain bill's is great.
If you're looking for a water 'feel' have you thought about The Riviera in Massapequa? Beautiful spot and one wedding at a time.

I had my bridal shower there and it was awesome! The staff was great and the food was really good too!
