Anyone heard of Spelman Studios/Christine Harding?

Christine is a photographer in Deer Park, recommended to me by a friend of a friend of a friend...I was wondering if any of you had ever heard of her?? She now works with Spelman Studios, but used to go by Custom Photography by Christine. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

I met w/ her, and by far her work was the best I have seen. She is kind of expensive but absolutely worth it - and she is a doll - unfortunately we could not book her because of our circumstances of not seeing each other before the ceremony and only having the cocktail hour for pictures.

Luvley...how expensive is expensive? Can you maybe give me some idea of her package prices?

Who else did you meet with/who did you end up booking, out of curiosity?

Okay - I just called away, so let me just tell you this:
The package I loved was I believe 3400 plus tax of course - I forgot how many pics that was for. I have met with no exaggeration, a dozen photographers - if you name others I can surely tell you my experience. Some don't want to take on our wedding because of the fact that we only have the cocktail hour to take pics together - others were very nasty about saying that we were going to ruin our day if we do not see each other before - I have met w/ people from 1500 - 5000. I am the Photography Expert and I have not even booked one yet!!! Let me know if U can help you out in any way!

When is your wedding?

The other photogs we met were:

Ray O'Connor
Patken
Imagine
Sherwood Triart
VIP

We have eliminated the last two from the list, as Sherwood was way overpriced for the quality (not to mention kinda snobby) and VIP, while nice, didn't have the quality we were looking for.

Our favorite so far is Imagine but they are at around $3800. If Christine's $3400 package includes more than Imagine's $3800, it might be worth checking out. I just don't know if $3800 is in the budget, though.

Patken and Ray were around the same price, and both seemed like they would be really good to work with, except I've been seeing a lot of negative feedback lately about Patken....

Did you meet with any of these?

I think what is really important also is 'clicking' with whomever will be shooting that day. I love Dan Krieger, I love Paul Marino - out of all the others, I did not love anyone - except Christine from Spelman - if you have time between your cereomny and reception, or if you are seeing each other before - she is the best in my opinion - and she has that woman's touch - know's what to look for - knows how to stand - etc. I met w/ only 1 of the ones you met with - and I did not like them at all... (I am in sales, so I can see a pitch from a mile away) I want someone to do it not only for the money but because it is their passion!

I've booked Christine and Spelman for my wedding. My FH and I shopped around for the photographer we felt we fit with best. So, we went to about 10-12 photographers. Also, we aren't getting video so we really wanted to find the right photographer for us.

We were very happy with all the samples of Christine's work (and she showed us many samples). Her prices were a bit high, but we aren't getting video and we felt that for the price we are going to get good photos (and enough of them), a photographer we can work with and who has a good eye, a variety of candid and traditional shots, and overall quality. Also, in addition to the regular photos/album included in most photography packages, she makes a favorette (a pocket sized, flush mounted mini album that you can carry with you and show people on a whim...like when they say 'I never got to see you wedding photos'). She has been receptive when I have called her with questions and very prompt. Soon we will be doing our engagement photos with her.

I would suggest checking her out!
