Anyone here a PETA member??

If so, have you read the recent edition of ANIMAL TIMES regarding that a$$hole Mehmet Oz, the Columbia U doctor who conducts horrific and disturbing lab experiments on DOGS??

Well i just wrote Oprah a long email bc the article discusses how this dr. is a reoccuring guest on her show. I begged her to rethink her feelings towards him and remove his name from her website and from future shows.

If youre a dog lover (all animals really) then PLEASE email the Oprah show at:

Hi. I am an animal lover all the way, but I'm also a researcher and so I do value the importance of animal research. I have to say, some experiments using dogs are horrific. For example, psychology's 'learned helplessness' experiment. But, Dr. Oz is a heart surgeon, and all of the techniques they use today for human heart surgery has mostly been learned from dogs. It would be great to be able to use a different animal, but not all animals have four-chambered hearts, which is vital if they are going to be eventually using these techniques in humans. I know for a fact that at all Universities, we have to follow strict animal protocols that must be passed by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). I assure you that before any animal experimentation can ever begin, measures must be taken to limit any pain and suffering. In addition, numbers of animals used in experiments are carefully regulated, and the experiments must be either novel or used for teaching purposes. I just wanted to let you know this, since I know the inner workings of research.
