For anyone keeping their name (Questions)

When my brother got married he took his wife's last name and added it to the end of his(hyphenated). She took his last name and put it before her last name(hyphenated). They did this because there were no boys in her family and her family name would have ended. Now they have 2 sons and the last name continues on. My brother did not want to do this at all,but now he says it is no big deal and he is happy he did it. He gave his wife and her family a very precious gift.

My thinking all along has been to keep mine..

I`m hoping my FI and his family will not be too offended. I don`t think my FI has really taken me seriously on this so I`m planning to explain the why`s and why not`s to him. Personally, it is important for me to keep my name but if people referred to me using my husband`s surname - thats fine. I wouldn`t see the need to correct people all the time. The professional/legal set-up also sounds interesting.
