Anyone keeping their name?
Absolutely not! I have a long, hard to spell, hard to pronounce, Italian last name that sounds like a misprounced part of the female anatomy in Spanish... I can't wait to be able to use Patrick's very common last name!

I am keeping my name professionally, but I am changing it legally (for drivers license, etc.)

Anyone keeping their name?
I am going to try and hold on to my name as long as possible. Especially since the new name will be BUTT. However, my Fiance isn't to thrilled with that.

Anyone keeping their name?
Yup... I am going to hyphenate it so I can use mine for work & then I will use it hyphenated or just his name for everything else. As long as it is hyphenated I can use any variation of it. He's not really happy with it, but I have had my name my whole life & I kinda like it!!

Anyone keeping their name?
I don`t have a middle name, so I`m moving my maiden name over to my middle name, and taking his last name. It`s the best of both worlds - I can offically keep my last name, and take his as well!

Anyone keeping their name?
No, I really have no attachments to my last name. I know that may sound weird, but when my parents divorced my mom changed her name back to her maiden name, and I'm not that close w/ my dad. I look forward to taking his name!

I`m not exactly sure yet! My sister did the same thing last year, and I think she just went to the SS Administration with her marriage license, and got a new card. I know it wasn`t hard, but I`ll find out from her and post the reply.

For anyone keeping their name (Questions)
How are you going to be announced? I was thinking for the first time as husband and wife James and Tara Leave out names all together... It is a touchy subject with some people - I am keeping mine b/c it's mine (men don't have to give up theirs - I think you both should take both names (it's supposed to be the jointing of two families)

Anyone keeping their name?
My wife's last name is Brett so we hyphenated the kid''s names to Brett-Kauffman. People were always getting it wrong, so reluctantly we''re all giving up on that (they''re 11 and 14 years old) and they are changing their name to Brett because it''s just easier. I''m considering changing my name to Brett also (Mark Brett sounds pretty good.) The best solution is just to make up a new name for your new family! I''ve seen that happen a few times and I think it''s really a good idea. If the bride hyphenates her name, then the groom should also (why not?) Just be careful when being announced into the reception, no matter what you decide. Too many times I''ve heard: 'And now, for the first time ever, Mr. and Mrs. John Smith!' Yuck! how can you just disappear? A more egalitarian solution would be 'and here''s Mary and John' Anyway, good luck with a rather sticky situation.

Mark - I wish more people felt the way you do - I was extremely touched with what you wrote... that is exactly how I feel!! I know people will talk at the wedding (especially his family) when we are announced with just our first names. Thank you so much!!

We're also being announced as 'for the first time as husband and wife...Tracy and John.' I think it's fine, I don't think most people will notice if you leave out the last names.Welcome New Vendors
