I am interested in booking a reception hall in Westchester. I really like the Fountainhead and especially Glen Island Harbour club. But I wanted to know if these halls will negotiate on price. Like Glen Harbour is 135 pp on Sunday will they lower the price if you limit alcohol, etc??? Anyone have experience and know what the deal is? TIA!

I don't think they will negotiate based on less alcohol or food. They do all the catering on site so there really is no break on these items. My advice is to tell them you really love the place and want to discuss the price b/c it seems to high. Tell them what you were thinking of per person or ask what is the best price they can give. You may have to up your min. guarantee to get the price you want. If that doesn't work try some of the other places in Westchester. Surf Club and VIP Country Club are also nice venues. Good luck.

Re: ???Anyone know?
Pretty much ALL catering halls are negotiable. Popular halls in peak season may be less so, but it never hurts to ask. I found them more willing to negotiate the price for off-days, too (Sundays / Fridays, etc.) I would say you could probably get them down $5pp at least.
Here are a couple of options:
Call and tell them you're really interested in booking there, but if they cannot come down to $X price, you'll be forced to choose your second choice on the basis of cost alone. Say you will bring your deposit ASAP if they are willing to come down to $x in price. They may try to give you a price in the middle or may just meet your price.
You could also call and say, 'I'm very interested in this RH, but I don't believe we can afford $135pp. I was curious to know if there is any room to negotiate. If the price is firm and there is no room to negotiate, please let me know and I won't call you back.'
This worked with our RH. We got them down quite a bit in price.

Thanks for the advice! I will call and do what you suggested. I was wondering if anyone had an experience with these specific halls and if they could get them to lower the rates.

I'm not sure about that particular RH personally. You might FM Bridex100. I believe she booked there - ??
