Re: Anyone know a great realtor for the Hoboken area?

i lived in hoboken for 9 years (just moved) and have worked with a few people - depending on what one is looking for i have some recommendations. if one is interested in one of the bigger complexes (my last place) my advice is to deal with building management companies directly to avoid the broker fee. for other types of places i would either attempt to find something by word of mouth, or sign up with as many agents as one possibly can (they have just about as many real estate places as they do bars) and just pound the pavement! FM me if you want any additional scoop

ETA: i wrote the above under the assumption of renting, buying in hoboken is a totally different ballgame and i know of some people who have done that as well (i rented)...

Also, advise I was given when I moved to the area 'stay away from numbered streets and don't go further back than willow' - a lot has changed since i first moved to the area, but personally i would still agree with the statement...

I lived there for 5 years. You can definitely go back past Willow. I lived on Adams Street between 4th and 5th for 2 years and loved it.

I know three different people that live in the Sky Club . One is a married couple with twin babies, another is my brother and his friend and then another married couple. They have a free shuttle bus that takes them to the Path train and ferry. Personally, this is too far west for me and I wouldn't want to live that far back, but the building is really nice and affordable b/c of the location. My brother has an awesome view of NYC from his balcony. For this building, go right through the management office - I'll post three pics I have of my brother's aparment.

My old roommate lives on Hudson and 10th and it is beautiful there! She bought the place a little over a year ago. In the winter, when there are no leaves on the trees, she can see the Empire State Building.

Another friend of mine just sold their 2 bedroom apartment on Garden between 12th and 13th - that place is beatiful! The last picture I'm posting is of their kitchen...

I just wanted to add that I don't have realtor info but hopefully this helps you with location.

I have lived in Hoboken for 8 years now. I live past Willow - almost anywhere in hoboken is safe now, the location you select should depend on the type of public transportation you will require (ferry, bus, path train). You dont want to be more than a ten minute walk from whatever transportation you need. I have had the best experience with Coldwell Banker on 1st and Washington. They are reputable and the agents are very responsive, unlike some of the smaller agencies.
