I have gotten a free credit report but that only states all the credit cards you have and what companies have run your credit. Im looking to see what my score is but not have to pay for it!

Be careful,,dont run your credit report to many times..everytime you run it,,the score goes down in points...
I only had mine checked when we got pre-approved for a mortgage.

If you have a providan CC I know that you can log into there site and you get your credit score.

I thought your score only goes down when potential creditors pull your credit report.

debs-if you go through a whole pre-mortgage approval process with a mortgage broker (takes about 20 minutes) thats really the only way to get it for free.
otherwise you may have to pay for it.

We had to pay for ours when our broker ran it for our pre-approval. It really pi$$es me off that I have to pay for something that technically is mine.

It doesn't hurt or lower your score at all when you pull your own credit.
The only way your score is affected is when lenders/creditors pull your score after you OK it with them....it decreases about 2-10 points depending on starting score.

you ALWAYS have to pay for your FICO score, which is the REAL score. The free credit reports when you join a site and then cancel within 30 days are great, I do it all the time, and I cancel and have never had a problem but the score they give you is THEIR interpretation of your score, it is NOT your true Fico score, and dont let anyone tell you different..LOL.
