Anyone know anything about De Seversky, prices, renovations?
hi-- I am new to the board and am currently looking for places, and have heard goodthings about De Seversky. Would appreciate any advice w/ LI planning! Thanks-- Liz

Hi. I was originally going to book DeSeversky for my wedding - in fact I was on my way to drop off the deposit and when I drove up the whole area was dug up! Turns out they sold off a big chunk of the land and are developing it. That really turned me off - esp. because they hadn't told us about it from the start and they didn't really know what it was going to look like in the end. The price per head was $140. Hope this helps you.

I was there about 2 weeks ago and they were doing 'a bit' of work. You may want to find out when the completion date is and what they intend to put there.
My girlfriend's sister had her wedding there and they had nothing but wonderful things to say about the place.

I went to a wedding there almost two years ago. If you have over 120 people, it might not be the place for you. They had about 140 guests and could not do a formal sit-down dinner. I actually got stuck sitting in a whole other room separate from the main ballroom due to a lack of seating. The grounds are amazing and the food was great so, if you are looking for a place for a small wedding, it really is beautiful.

I have been there and loved, although it is not a large facility, and i also heard they are building houses there, its all tore up.

Yeah.. someone else looking for info!!! I too am interested in the mansion. My big concern was not the grounds (I think most of it should be done by next year). I am worried that there is not enough food in the cocktail hour for the price. I have never been there but I am sure the food is good.....my Italian family is concerned that they are not including enough. But I sooo love the place. What did you think of Dan...did you feel like he would take care of you?? If you love the place I really would not worry too much about the grounds!

I forgot to mention that I think you should be able to negotiate down the price due to the construction.
