I have been considering getting this shot every 3 months rather than taking a pill everyday. I asked my gyno about it and she said that you dont get your period on the shot. (which sounds like a plus to me!) I also asked about gaining weight on it because I've heard that about the shot, and her answer was that the shot has no calories or fat in it (hahaha)....it may change your eating patterns but its up to you to acknowledge that and not let it get the best of you. But im wondering if anyone has any personal experience with the shot? Or knows someone who has gotten it.

you should try that cause all you have to do is take if out every 3 weeks to get oyur period and then put another on in...
I want to switched to it but I dont know anyone who has tried it before...any thoughts about it??

I tell everyone I can NOT to get the shot. I used to get horrible periods when i was younger, and it was great to not get one at all...but when I finally stopped Depo my period didnt come back for two years, and had to be jump started with medication. For the rest of my life I will have to take BC pills to regulate my cycle...if I dont take BC I dont get a period....ontop of the weight gain and mood swings...its SO not worth it.

my friend had this and hated it she gained weight and had mood swings
it took over a year to get back to normal ( which would mean over a year to get pregnant if you wanted to!)

UGH SO sorry that happened to you. I also had a hard time getting back to normal...I wish i never went on it. I gained SOOOO much weight from it too and was so hard to lose it after. I had to bust my *** sohard to lose the 35 pounds i gained from it.
Not to mention i look back at that time and i was seriously losing my mind, i was acting insane well even insane for me lol, i was out of control

I don't know if I would trust it. Not getting your period I think can be very dangerous.

People dont realize what this stuff does to you...I was attending Stony Brook at the time, and I was a nutcase (more so than normal ) I went from being a size 10-12 to an 18!!!
