Anyone know how long a passport renewal takes?

I just sent mine in this morning, because I never changed it to my married name. I figure I wont be traveling until May or June, so I thought I was ahead of the game. But now Ive got the bright idea that maybe I should go over my spring break in March to visit. Its amonth away..do you think my passport will be back by then???
Im a graduate student, so there wont be school...Im working full time from home..so I can take my work with me and I work part time at a treatment center and can get out of that. Im going crazy..I need to see my boys..I cant take this waiting around anymore.
I would still have to apply for a Visa and I have no idea how long that takes either.
Maybe Im not being realistic..I just feel down.
When you are pregnant, you know your child is safe with you, you can feel them kick, etc.
When you adopt, You know these children are out there, but are they being loved? Are they being taken care of? Are they sad? There is nothing I can do, I feel so helpless. I thought I could handle this..but every day its getting harder and harder. Sorry to ramble on..but if anyone knows how long a passport renewal takes..please let me know!!! I had to send my passport and marriage certificate to PA.

I did mine in Feb 2 years ago and it was back in 3 weeks. My mom did hers a few weeks after me and it took her almost 5. If you're going at the end of March, I think you should be fine.
