i'm trying to connect to something using telnet and everytime i type in the telnet address i just get black screen. anyone know what i'm doing wrong? thanks

These are the commands for telnet...
telnet [host [port]]
host specifies the hostname or IP address of the remote computer to connect to.
Maybe the remote computer is not responding?

If you are at work your job may be blocking the telnet port.

ah that's too bad since it's actually work related. maybe i should call the i.t. guy and see if i can get access. thanks for the tips!
