They threw in 2 8x10's and some wallets because we were reffered to them but they are still a little pricey.

I think to a certain extent they are. Our photographer gave us a deal on a second photographer... but I don't think we would have othewise gotten the price down a lot.
I think it's definitely worth trying!

it never hurts to tell them you really want to use them but got a better price from a competing photographer...

Caution-- just remember that a lot of the vendors know each other (or at least their pricing) so don't go too crazy when you talk prices. (like if it $200 cheaper don't tell them its 2000 cheaper)
BUT, I did negotiate with my photographer. I didn't want everything that was is their package and was able to negotiate prices from there.

I just booked this past weekend, and we brought them pricing from another photog, because they had better pricing but we really loved this one, and they def. came down in price, we also didn't need everything they offered in their package, but needed an extra parent album so he did it for free.. def negotiable-but to an extent, there were things they wouldn't honor
