Awww.... ladies!!!! Now I feel some love!!!!! I want a GTG!!! My schedule changes so much that it's so hard to figure these things out. Typically I'm off on Monday and Tuesday, but even that changes.

Well, if we planned a GTG for say, a month from now on a Tuesday - could you make sure you had that night off? What hours do you work? Maybe we could try a Saturday during the day or something like that????

Well I know people here cause I was born and raised here and now I go to graduate school here. But none of my friends are married or even close to married. I want to come to a GTG...I didn't even know there were GTGs to go to.
I'm excited!

Yes, come to a GTG. You will meet lots of people. Since everybody cannot make it to all GTG, you will meet different people.

I'm in Suffolk too..we can be friends!!!

i'm kinda in the same boat as weddingbunny. while i am from here, a lot of my friends and i have either drifted apart or they moved away. plus i work with mostly guys so it's not exactly the place to meet quality friends. i miss having girls to hang out with and just talk and be girls. that's why i love this site so much. i haven't gone to a GTG though... i feel like everyone knows each other and i'll be sitting there by myself! lol

I can completely empathize. My best friend still lives here, but all of my other friends are out of state...and I tend to be a little shy at first, so I've not gone to the GTG...

I'm a bit depressed. I moved here with DH about 2 years before our wedding. The closest person I know lives near Utica. DH's family lives around the Bronx. His friends are spread from Yonkers to Carmel. We both work weekends, typically.

If we have had days off together, it might be spent with his friends or family, although rare. Is there anybody else that deals with this? I love my DH so much. I do, however, want to have some friends. Are any of you in the same boat? We live in Suffolk.

I completely understand! Although I did not move too far away from where I grew up (about 45 mins), I have been feeling very home sick. We just moved to E. Northport 2 weeks ago....I lived in Bayside for 27 years until now. Even though it is not that far, I do not know that many people and things just feel so different.

I grew up on LI but, now live in Rockland County where FH grew up. It's nice and all but, his schedule fluctuates and he works weekends because he's in the FDNY. I have one friend from college up there (randomly enough) and I haven't seen her since I moved up there (and I have been trying! she's just busy with her own thing). FH doesn't totally understand because he knows a lot of people there, from growing up there and other firemen. I've been trying to befriend their wives!!!
