Anyone know of a beautiful place to go for honeymoon locally?
I'm not a big fan of flying so does anyone have any ideas of where we can go locally for a honeymoon? I'm not interested in the Poconos.

What about Mystic, CT? Or Rhode Island? Being that your wedding is in November, it'll be a bit cold. What about skiiing? Do you ski? There are lots of places up north, perhaps VT?
We too don't want to fly. We found a cruise out of New York, I think its on Celebrity, that goes to Bermuda. Its a 8-day cruise. Email me [email protected] if you want more info on the cruise!!

Vermont and Cape May are amazing. Rhode Island is INCREDIBLE. Or Canada! Only takes about 7 hours driving. And it's beautiful there!

Nantucket is definately worth considering - absolutely charming and romantic.
With a November wedding, maybe you should look at the Berkshires to see the fall folliage, could be breathtaking!

Maine and Vermont are stunning and romantic places. You can stay in a B&B. www.bbonline.com has tons of listings. You don't need to fly to have a beautiful honeymoon. All you need is your honey.
Also you may want to think about a drive cross country...

Try the Mount Washington Valley area of New Hampshire. Lots to do, beautiful foliage and some awesome places to stay.

I went to the montaulk mannor last year with my fh and it is beautiful! We had such a great room (suite) that had a large kitchen, big living room, huge bedroom and 2 very large bathrooms! The food was fantastic, but we ate mostly in town each night or we cooked in our suite (my fh loves to cook and he is really good at it). You should have a great time there. It is not directly on the water, but from some rooms you actually have a view of BOTH the bay and the ocean.

The Finglerlakes region of NY. I went to Cornell and spent four years in Ithaca, NY. It is one of the most beautiful places on earth! There are a lot of quaint romantic bed and breakfasts, fabulous restaurants, gorges, waterfalls, mountains and it's a huge wine region with many great wineries. The fall is the best time to visit upstate NY because the foliage is so beautiful. There is also a casino, outlet and cross county skiing outside of Syracuse.(an hour from Ithaca) MacKenzie Childs &The Saranac beer factory are in Aurora, NY. Hee hee...I LIVE in the Finger Lakes region!!! It is beautiful here. It's about a 6 hour drive from LI. I'd recommend staying on Lake Canandaigua or maybe even Lake Skaneatles....both have crystal clear lakes and awesome towns. Plus, Niagara Falls and Toronto are only a short drive away! In Greenwich CT, a bed and breakfast called The Homestead. It has the most unbelievably romantic rooms and a 4 star restaurant. Again, even the restaurant is romantic. And it's only 45 min from NY so it's easy to take a splurge on a limo to the city for a show or some sightseeing. It really is a fabulous B & B.
