My DH got his job in HR with no prior experience. He has a degree in Music and was an actor before taking his current job. He temped where he works for a few months and they loved him so much that they created a position for him. He gets great benefits and loves it. They are also helping to pay for his Master's in Business. So, there is hope!!!

I think headhunters/recruiters can make good $$$.Also, many types of sales jobs require no sales experience.

We can dream, can't we?
Can you type at least 35wpm? Legal Secretarial positions pay really well, even at the entry level.

Hmmm, don't sanitation workers get paid well?Or if you prefer a more traditional setting -- paralegal jobs pay well!

Civil service...at least the hours are good...in Nassau Courts I think they start at 8:30 and leave at 4:30 with an hour and a half lunch.Nice...
Good benefits, good pension plan.

Also arent paraleglas given hard hours some time it is not a steady 9-5 job is it? I worked in a law firm years ago and we worked crazy hours.

Yes, paralegal hours can be rough -- but that is also why/how they make so much money.

Just go to the website and they give you a list of open exams. I'm not sure what the website is though. Just go to google and put in New York State Civil Service. I think you can also try Suffolk County Civil Service and Nassau County Civil Service. For some positions you don't need to be a resident of the county.

That's why I say go for Legal Secretary! They get to go home at 5:30, most times make MORE than the paralegal, and can do overtime if they want! It's a great gig, I'm telling you!
