Suggest to me for an eshoot...just wondering what kind of an area this is?

DUMBO = Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.... so that might give you somewhat of an idea what it's like. Kind of industrial, but it's gotten to be a pretty artsy/trendy area. Try doing a Google image search and you'll probably find some pictures.
If you saw the movie Vanilla Sky, some of it was filmed there - the scenes around Penelope Cruz's apartment.
Not so much a 'pretty' area, but could make for some cool photos.

thanks for the info - would you recommend brooklyn bride/southstreet seaport instead? There areas were suggested to me and I'm not sure if they'll be good for photos HMM....

Well, I guess it depends on what sort of feel or theme you'd want to go with. Personally, I'd go for Brooklyn Bridge/SSS over Dumbo. The Brooklyn Bridge is so picturesque, I'm sure it'd be great for your photos. SSS could be cool also - it always feels to me like I'm away from NY and in San Francisco or someplace. I see Dumbo as having more of a gritty urban feel to it.

I love the area by the Brooklyn Bridge and the Seaport. Anthonys firehouse was right there. You could see the seaport to your left anf the bridge to your right. Beautiful views over there!

I used to work in DUMBO, a lot of movies, videos and photo shoots were done there. If I had to choose a location there I would say the promenade, which give a view of the bridge and South St Seaport. They built a children's park under the bridge as well. Also depending on the timing of the shots, if its at sundown, you can have the twinkling lights by the River Cafe in your shots.
However, if you're getting married in LI, consider the traffic factor getting there and back.....especially on the BQE!!!!

I live there... very cool and urban... They just redid the Brooklyn Bridge Park and the views are spectacular!

My SIL lives there. The view of the bridges and water and the city is beautiful. There is a huge grassy area right on water.
You could have pictures taken of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges.

Dumbo is a fabulous spot for photos. Great cobblestone streets and old factories...gorgeous views of both bridges, etc.. Within a few blocks, there are so many different options.
The promenade and bridges are also nice but crowded..so not as great of an option for epics unless you want a lot of strangers in the photos with you.
