anyone know where i can find?....(card box related)

After the recent post about theft from card boxes (and hearing other nightmare stories), Im totally rethinking my idea of leaving a chest I bought wide open all night. There would really not be any other way to use what I have. I don't want to cut a whole in the top(not only would it be really difficult but I wouldnt like the way it looked), and it clips shut but doesn't 'lock.' Pic below...



Does anyone know where I can get a basketweave box like below, this was someone elses idea for a beachy card box. Planning to do something similar I think. Do you think Michaels or AC Moore would have them?

Michael's might. I agree with previous poster about homes stores...home goods, marshalls might have something like that.

I agree...I'm rethinking my cardbox, too. I wasn't going to cut a slit on top, but now I think I might.

Try AC Moore- we were going to put a lock on ours but FFIL just cut a slit and then nailed it shut. The sucker is BIG and heavy so people would literally have to take the whole thing with them which would be a bit obvious.

Try AC Moore, Homegoods, Michaels, even target or TJ Maxx.

hmmmm here's what I propose.....what if you stick with your original box, still keep it open all night....BUT put something over the inside- perhaps tacking it or stapling it somehow to the inner part of the trunk, in the corners or on the sides......like a heavy cardboard and cover it with fabric, just cut a slot in the middle or something?? I'm trying to be creative here!! lol If you display it in the front of the room, then anyone would be able to see if someone tampers with it, and it's still somewhat secure since your envelopes will be put in the slot instead of out in the open. HTH!
