Ugh, I need to get a summer job too. But I refuse to do any kind of camp (did that before....not a good experience haha) and I tried the waitress thing.....even funnier experience!!!
I know places like Fire Island and out east are always looking for summer help....mostly waitressing. You could try that.

My company is ALWAYS hiring people to take inbound sales calls in our call center. It doesnt pay all that great, I think its $8 per hour plus commission but you can make a lot of commission. All calls are inbound so you wouldnt ever be calling someone at home and the hours are flexible but you do have to work at least 1 weekend day I believe. FYI we sell vitamins via infomercials. Its a great company with excellent products and awesome people.
If you're interested FM me!
btw, I dont work in sales but I know all of the managers over there and they are always hiring.
