anyone letting their bm's pick out their own dresses??

just curious..i have decided to let my bm's pick out a dress of their style..with the only stipulation being black and long. i have one coming from out of state..and having been in a couple weddings myself ... i want them to be able to wear the dresses again.

is anyone else doing this???

i am going to buy matching faux pearl necklace/earring/braclet sets so they match that way :)

I am doing that. I am picking the color but allowing them to pick their own dresses, they all have different body types and I want them to feel beautiful and comfortable on that day. They can do their hair anyway they want, any jewelry they want.

I did!!

In fact, my matron of honor (my sister) also picked out my gown!! She 'made me' try it on because on the hanger I did NOT like it and then I loved it!!!

So funny same here. I hated the dress on the hanger, I said no way, and she begged my to try it on for her and I LOVED it on

Yup! I did this also, black and long...and I had a stipulation for feeling as beautiful as they possibly can that day. They are thrilled. They pick all their own..hair jewels, shoes..I just want some Smokin BM's

I am letting them chose the style.
But I am stipulating the designer, material, length, and color.
This way, they will all 'match', but not wear the same thing.

i did and i'm sp excited!! it worked out beautifully!! i picked the color and designer and they picked the rest!!! they are all very happy bms and love their dresses!! and they all ended up coordinating - the older 3 all got satin with trains and the 3 junior bms all got chiffon with empire waist but different styles!

I did and it worked out great. I chose the color and fabric and designer (Bill Levkoff) and they all had fun!

I did this! I picked the color and that was it. To be honest, i wanted all my girls to be comfortable in what they wanted. So what better way to make sure that happens, than to let them pick it out!

I picked out 3 dresses for my girls. Then I let them choose which ome they liked from that.

We did not pick our dresses yet, but this sounds like a good idea! I think I would definitely pick the color and the designer, and then let them pick out whatever dress they feel most comfortable in. Great idea!

yes and its the best/easiest decision i have ever made!! i'm choosing the color but my MOH choose the dress and the other bm's agreed. she has to try it on to get the full effect, but its a beautiful dress so i know they'll all be happy

I did that. they were very happy that they each got choose their own dress.

My only request was the same as yours, they all had to be the same exact color and long.

i think thats defniitely a good idea... that way they'll at least be spending money on a dress they like i think as long as their all the same color, it'll look great

I picked the color, and my bridesmaids pick their own styles. It worked out better that way, because they all have different body types and like to wear different things.
