Anyone live in Farmingville (LIE exit 63 near blue point rd?) & what do you think about it?
I asked this question under the 'homes' but i am trying get more opinions of the area

I live off of 63, North Ocean Ave. Parts of Farmingville are nice.

My mom lives over there. Coram to be exact. I like it and she loves it. Lots of shopping! But seriously, there is nothing wrong with the area at all - its very nice.

I live near there- in Medford and one of my good friends lives right there- It is OK- Alot of mexicans hanging out on the corners near all the 711's
Check it out one morning.
The School District is Sachem which is good. so...........

I also live in a neighboring town. Parts of Farmingville are nice, but other parts are riddled with mexican day-laborers hanging out on the corners soliciting work.

One of my parents' friends just opened a business in Farmingville, and he says that its really nice twon. Another family friend lives like 2 minutes over in Selden, and they have no complaints. They love the area. They used to live in the Bronx.

Definitely check out the school district...most is not Sachem I think.

I use to live right off of Blue Point Road south of Portion Road and I loved it. We had great neighbors and the area is very good.
Now I live right off of Rt 83 on Bald Hill so same area. We love it. But as in every neighborhood there might be some 'less' desirable streets so just make sure you take a look at your street and the surrounding streets before you buy.
Depending on where you live it could be either Sachem, Middle Country, or Longwood school districts and while my choices would be Sachem or MC, Longwood is on the upswing from the recent housing boom.

I grew up in Farmingville and my parents still live there. As far as I'm aware, almost all of it is in Sachem, where I and everyone I knew from Farmingville went to school. Sachem is great, don't know about the other districts that were mentioned.
Some areas of Farmingville have gone downhill, and the day-laborer problem is thorny (personally I feel sorry for them, they're just trying to find work). But there are a lot of nice areas and the town has a lot of hills, which isn't too common in other parts of LI, esp. the south shore.
